This Avery Lane Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 is quite pleasant: medium body, medium tannins, almost more like a merlot than a cab.
Nice dark-fruit taste, with maybe just a hint of caramel/sugar.
I think we had this with chicken last week, and the lighter merlot-ishness of it complemented the chicken well.
We’re having chicken again tonight, and this will be good.

Hi Guys
By the time you receive this, it will probably be 2010. It is New Year’s Eve here in Arden, NC, we have had a wonderful bottle of Champagne for the holiday, and a gourmet meal to ring out 2009. It was some left over white bean soup that Melody had made while here in NC for Christmas. Absolutely delicious, and thanks for the soup making lesson. We hope you have a very happy, healthy, and prosperous 2010. Can’t wait to see you in Texas in July!

That is the sweetest comment ever on our blog! Your New Year’s Eve sounded perfect! Wish we were closer. . .so glad you enjoyed the soup! By the way, we can’t begin to describe how much Trigger loves her new bed. In fact, in spite of the fact that she has dog beds in nearly every room, we have started transporting the Carly bed around to wherever we are sitting. It’s really quite amazing.
Thank you again for a wonderful Christmas; we are eagerly anticipating another wonderful get-together in July!
