Here’s a shot of Tony, Melody, Tom, Amanda, and Tommy in early November 2009.
It’s from a going-away dinner we had for Tony before he left for South America.
And here are a couple of our favorite 2009 photos of Tommy and Tony.
Tommy playing; he plays bass for the Ben Daniels Band.
Tony in Kathmandu, Nepal; he vacationed there when he lived in South Korea.

A couple nights ago, Leena and I went out to Palio in Ann Arbor (first date we’d been on in a lonnnng time). I was thinking about getting some wine, but a lot of the bottles were pretty expensive. We ended up getting a pitcher of Sangria, that’s the closest I’ve been to having some wine in a while. It was really good, though, let me tell you!

The winery we went to on Kelley’s Island in Ohio was amazing! We had a bottle of wine and a few pitchers of Sangria which was delightful!

What´s up guys!
We just got done checking out the Argentinian Wines part of the blog and have yet to try any of them, but we do have a recommendation for you to try. It´s called Angelica Zapata Malbec and it´s awesome. I´m not sure what the price will be in the states, but we both really liked this wine. We had a wine tasting at one point and actually made friends with the wine specialist, so we will try to get a list of recommendations for you from her within the next couple days. Hope all is well!
Love you mucho,
Tony and George

Tony & George, I am eager to taste your Malbec recommendation! I am going to try and find it right away. How interesting that you had a wine tasting and that you made friends with a specialist. We can’t wait to hear all about it! Love you Tony and Georgeson!

Although we have not yet acquired a taste for wine, we have acquired deep pride in what we read on this blog.
I know these bloggers and can tell you, what they tell you about wines can not be disputed. I attest to this summary and know that Tommy, Tony, and Trigger will agree.

We would like to add that we read one of your blogs and then went out and purchased a case of 2005 Chateau Moureau Bordeaux. We absolutely love it and wanted to thank you for recommending it. We also want to thank you for maintaining such a wonderful site that we love to read.

Not to be picky…but if I were going to edit this blog (now that I’m a blogger myself, I’m able to critique), I’d update this section a little bit. Maybe some new pictures?? Maybe an update on the summary?? Maybe try to make Tommy and me look really cool?? I don’t know, get creative…just do something for goodness sake!
I miss you both

Points well taken. You are absolutely right! It’s on our never-ending-or-completed to-do list.
We miss you!

Hi Tom and Melody!
My friend and I stumbled upon your blog while we were researching wine. We both think it’s great and wanted to share that with you. We hope you keep it up!
Also, this is probably a long shot but what’s life without taking leaps? I think Tony is incredibly handsome. What’s his story… (Maria)
Salute,
Sammy and Maria

Hello Maria & Sammy, Thank you very much for your comment. I hope you will continue to check out the blog! And, thank you for your comment on our son, Tony. Yes, he is truly handsome — even more so in person! And, he is intelligent, kind, funny and very independent. He is currently in Ecuador and will be coming home in a month or so. Oh, and he is single! And what is your story, Maria?

We’ll both definitely keep up with your blog! We had a lot of fun reading it while eating hummus and drinking wine on my floor.
Sammy is much better with wines than I am but I’m learning “piano piano.” And thank you for your response–it made me smile. I’m a writer living in NYC for the time being. I mainly write fashion editorial pieces but I want to hop around the globe a bit so I’m looking into travel writing too.

You sound like a very adventurous and talented young lady. Good luck with your writing career!

What a terrific blog with such an eclectic mix of your meals, friends and of course wines. Clearly you are a connoisseur of wines. You describe their taste and fragrance in a sommelier’s jargon. But what is your day job. You seem to be so at ease, enjoying life like an heiress.
I am really wondering if you will give a stranger a straight answer on your connection to the wine industry, but my curiosity is gnawing at me… So, I have to ask:
1. Are you sponsored or connected to the wine industry?
2. Is the site indirectly funded by wineries or retailers?
(i.e. does your site use ads, referals or stats?)

Hi and thank you for your very nice comments. And, of course I will give you straight answers to your questions. 1) No, we are not sponsored nor are we connected in any way to the wine industry. Our day jobs are not connected to the wine industry but we do need those paychecks to buy the wine! 2) Our site is all are own with zero ads or referrals. We were approached at one time to allow ads on our site (for pay) but we just didn’t have the time to follow through with the adjustments we would have had to make to allow room for banners and other such space issues for the ads. So we just go along our merry way, posting when we can purely for our own record and enjoyment. As for enjoying life like an heiress (love that), you are right on all counts! We have a wonderful and joyous life. We live simply but happily! Thank you for noticing~
