Alambrado Gran Selection Cabernet Sauvignon (2010)

It is great to be home after a demanding work trip. I arrived home too late to figure out dinner so we ordered pizza.

This Alambrado Gran Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, an Argentine Cab. tastes really good. Very subtle nose with a dark fruit, tannic, and dark chocolate taste.

Alto Medrano Cabernet Sauvignon (2006)

It is an unseasonably warm September evening in Michigan. We are in shorts and t-shirts with the windows open. We have to enjoy this because we know it won’t last. I had a hectic but productive day. Now we are unwinding. I chose this wine as a good middle of the week quaff. This was on sale for $7 at A&L Wine Castle.

This Argentinian Alto Medrano Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 is chocolatey and a bit on the sweet side for our tastes. There is a caramely finish that is okay and many would love. I prefer dryer and less sweet but this is perfectly acceptable, especially for the price.

I am reheating leftover chicken-and-rice casserole, plus steamed broccoli and a salad for our dinner.

Alma Andina Malbec Reserve (2008)

We are enjoying our Sunday evening after a welcome weekend at home. We have had a busy July and this “no obligation” weekend was a happy respite. We worked a lot in and outside the house. We heard from Tony and he arrived safely in Seoul.

So, this post will be quick because Tom is outside on the patio grilling and I need to bring him his glass of wine. I marinated a pork loin for dinner and that will be on the grill for probably 45 minutes or so. I am going to serve this with baked potatoes and sliced cucumbers in vinegar (from my garden), sliced tomatoes with sliced green onions (from my garden).

This wine is delicious. From high in the vineyards in Argentina, this fruity wine is very smooth with ripe fruit and chocolate with a touch of vanilla on the finish. A perfect choice for grilled pork loin and garden-fresh vegetables.

Alambrado Malbec (2008)

It is the middle of the work week and we both have been working hard at our jobs. I worked even later than usual tonight and my drive home was so dark. It’s that time of the year when I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark.

So, for dinner tonight, I am making a very plain, but comforting, meal of goulash and green beans. I will also serve sliced, fresh pineapple as a side.

For our wine tonight, we are having this wonderful Argentinian Malbec. It is delicious. The nose is a mix of fresh pine and cloves. The taste is in-your-face plums and the finish is strong licorice. We are enjoying this wine very much. Our dog, Trigger, is cuddled on the chair next to me. She has noticed the change in the weather and wants to be next to me any time I am home. . .it is so nice!
