A delicious Thursday night dinner of baked salmon with a side of white bean-quinoa sauté and a green salad. Thank you Erica and Jodi for the beautiful decanter which we used tonight for this wine. I already loved this wine but, I have to admit, decanting made it even better.

You know, I need to find out what quinoa is. Is it like barley?

Dawn–I am new to quinoa. But it is so delicious and versatile. It is much quicker to cook than brown rice–about 20 minutes. The grain is smaller than barley. . .very teeny balls of grain for lack of a better descriptor. Mixes well with garlic and onions. Try it and let me know what you think!

Do you find it near the rice at the grocery store?

Yes. It is near the rice and barley and other grains. At some stores it is near the oatmeal. Are you having trouble finding it?

I haven’t been back to the store since so I haven’t looked. Will look next trip.

I am glad that I tried it. It is very versatile and is good sautéed with onions and garlic.
