This Deepwater Point Zinfandel 2007 from California is a triple-repeat wine for us. We really enjoy it. Tonight, on this second night of 2009, we are cozying up for a wintery Friday night in the bitter cold. I have a pot of chili on the stove (simmering, in honor of my father-in-law Joe), and I have a loaf of whole-wheat bread rising and almost ready to bake. We are reading two nights worth of newspapers because we didn’t realize that we had a paper last night sitting in our mailbox! The Christmas tree is still decorated and lit, but we will probably take down the decorations tomorrow.
This wine has an aroma of blackberry jam and fennel. On the palate is anise, green pepper, and strawberries. The finish is long with a taste of black pepper.
Tom and I are going to watch a movie tonight and get cozy. Cheers!

I am President of a wine club – The Corky Women – and the men who pop ‘em.
Ha. We are a fun social group that go to a lot of events and truly enjoy each other’s company. We hold meetings and have grown from 3 girls to 12 in 8 months time!
I am just learning to appreciate red wine. I had to write a note to let you know I DON’T LIKE ZINFANDEL. Wow, I saw your bottle in my home (I get wine delivered) and just thought I’d try a truly red zin. (Usually it’s a blush).
WOW WOW WOW
I loved it! The flavor burst in my mouth. The color supurb! What glorious legs. It really does taste like stawberries and a hint of pepper! Who thought!
I gave my second bottle to my boss who grows his own grapes. I can’t wait to get his comment.
I will truly be ordering more of this fantastic wine.

Eileen, This is very cool! So, do I get full credit for turning you into a Zin fan? Now, wish we could join your Corky Women wine club! Sounds like my kind of club. I don’t suppose you’re in Michigan?

Hi there!
No, sorry. I’m in NJ. Central NJ. We are going on a wine train trail tomorrow following the Delaware River and over to 2 wineries, Villa Milagro (the only organic winery in NJ) and then onto the Alba (award winning) winery.
There are 10 of us going and the girls are wearing our Corky Women T-shirts. We will snack on the train and drink our own wine that we bring.
Hope the rain stays away!
About the Zin – Yes! Where do I order a few more bottles?

darn it; I was afraid you were far away. . .Eileen, we would be good friends. Have a great time on the wine trail! Could you send me a picture of you (and members, if possible) in your Corky Women T-shirts? We will post it on our blog! You can get Zin lots of places. You just have to start watching for it.

I have been trying to purchase Ashley Brooke’s Deepwater Point Zin for my sister who loves it and can’t find it anywhere. Can anyone help me locate some to buy for her? It means a lot to me but I’m coming up “dry” in my searches. Please help.

Hi Sandie, I hope one of us will be able to help you find this. Does your sister know how lucky she is to have a sister that is looking out for her?
