Oxbow Cabernet Sauvignon (2005)

Oxbow Cabernet Sauvignon 2005This Oxbow Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 from California is a luscious, medium-to-full-bodied big red that should be sipped slowly to enjoy all the nuances and complexities. The nose announces itself immediately upon pulling the cork. Wow! The aroma is fresh grass and thickets with notes of clover. On the palate is a pleasing balance of spice and fruits with firm tannins. The finish is lovely and long lasting with hints of vanilla and oak.

I chose this wine to accompany steak on the grill. I am very pleased with this selection. It is delicious. If you love a big red, try this one.

Tom: This Oxbow Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 is a very nice big red. It is medium tannic, with a big-fruit bouquet and taste (blackberries), and a hint of coffee. It is a bit soft (merlot like) and a bit fruit forward compared to some cabernets; but the effect is luscious and luxurious. This will be great with our steak (if it lasts that long!).
